Michael Drusano, M.D. is currently based out of Miami Beach, Florida. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida – the site of the first Family Medicine residency program in the nation. Given his training, he is perfectly comfortable with seeing a wide variety of patients from adults to the elderly to pregnant patients as well as pediatric patients – including the little ones at The Dream Home.

Besides Sierra Leone, he has also done international work in such diverse locales as rural Colombia, Botswana, South Africa, Cambodia, Somalia, and the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Back in Miami, he sees and treats a wide variety of patients in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.

“Ebola still is not over,” says Dr. Drusano. “Its effects continue to reverberate through West Africa, especially among the most vulnerable populations. Participating in the care of the orphans of The Dream Home is a small but important way of mitigating those effects.”
